Warkworth Golf Club
Captains Club Outing 7th June 2013
42 players travelled by coach or car to Wearside golf club to take part in the annual club outing.
After a coffee and breakfast sandwich we started the morning with a Texas Scramble over the front nine, and after being informed by the Secretary Jim that at the Hexham club outing no player had hit the first we were pleased when Ken Bailey in my team hit a shot to 20 foot from the pin.
The result for the morning scramble was as follows:
After lunch bets were placed on players on form and we set out for the Outing Trophy. Comments had been made on how difficult the course was playing (we found out it had been set up for a league game later that day) and this was reflected in the scores.
The results from the afternoon singles were:
Longest drive was shared as it could not be decided whether the ball of Steve Lamb or Neville Holden had gone the farthest from the tee.
Nearest the pin was won by Colin Mitchell
And finally the Past Captains prize was won by Tim Capron who with a second place finish for the day did very well financially.
Following the evening meal a brief presentation took place and then a few beverages were enjoyed by all.
I would like to thank Wearside Golf Club for their hospitality and Craiggs Coaches for getting those that travelled on the bus there and back and finally all the players that travelled and enjoyed the 2013 trip.
